Great work tonight! Now, let’s do it four more times (each one, better than the next).

  1. Nova! Nova!
    – ALL – keep working on vocal presence and rhythmic energy; much better on the double refrain!
    – CHILDREN – please do not sing the refrain until the third time (Chris sings first; Chorus on stage sing next; Chorus and children in house sing next)
  2. Nota dance
    – MARGINALIA – great start to the dance
  3. Verbum Patris
    – DIANA and DOUG – we are going to sound check you to find your ideal stage position for your solos
    – GREG M. and BARRY – please move away from the center on the “Eya’s” to make way for the verse 3 soloists
  4. Edi beo thu
    – DONGMYUNG and MYLA – thanks for hitting your mark on the stage
    – SL SINGERS – please keep working to cheat out to the audience
  5. Quant je voi yver retorner
    – ALL – Sing straight out front all the time.  Lots and lots of diction please!!!
  6. “Kyrie” from Missa L’homme armé
    – DONGMYUNG – the intro. was just right — thank you!
    – ALL – we need to really check mm. 11-12 (there is still something not quite right)
  7. Lord of the Dance
    – SOUND – Chris Lewis’ micing seems too hot
    – CHILDREN – you left the stage too early
    – BRASS – children left the stage too early; you shouldn’t conclude until we can get more audience out into the lobby
  8. Teaching
    – GREG L – Betsy is going to divide up the groups, and then hand it back to you for Boar’s Head and Sussex
  9. Abbots Bromley
    – DONGMYUNG – so, we need you to wait to start the music until the curtain starts to open.  Also, keep playing at the end (finish the phrase) after the dances are off the stage… you will still have plenty of time to get to Peter
  10. Conditor alme siderum
    – ELEANORE – the tolling at the beginning was great… could the tolling after this start sooner (can you start it while you are moving)?
    – JANE – your bells sounded good (note from Jackie)
  11. Sante Nicholas
    – HANDBELLS – move downstage a bit more so we can hear you (someone had the wrong bell — do we need to put ribbons on the bells or other markings?)
  12. Worldes Blis Jig / Entrance into Bercilak’s Court
    – MARGINALIA – this was too long, but I am not sure how much shorter it needs to be.  Could we talk about it? (how many rounds did you play and what is your cue to conclude?)
  13. Il est né le divin enfant
    – KAT – can you only get the kids started and then come over to me (Betsy)
    – BRASS – this one seemed a touch fast to me
  14. Dona nobis
    – ANDREA and GREG McG – please both be out front and mirror my conducting as is possible (we should also do this during teaching
  15. Plus bele que flor
    – DONGMYUNG and QUAR(QUIN)TET — Still gorgeous!
    – MAUD and JENNIE – please cheat out more
  16. J’atendray tant qu’il vois playra
    – ALL – this was much better, but maybe we need a fight call at intermission each performance to run this (Verse 3 entrance was still not as clean as it could be)
  17. Boar’s Head
    – ALL – PRESTON provides the final cutoff (so no one else needs to do it)
  18. Lamento di Tristano
     – BRIAN and D – could this go slightly faster? (this request came from Roberta — it has to do with the ladies who are dancing)
  19. Gloria ad modum tubae
    – BRASS – the fanfare was just the right length and character for this transition — thank you!
    – BASSES – in mm. 46 and 47, you are on a G (not low C); please check your music!
    – GROUP 2 T/B – we could use a bit more from you
    – PRESTON – could you please avoid interrupting singers toward the end of this song (where the music is more complex)?  You really have the applause after this song to move into place for “The Shortest Day”
  20. Sussex Mummers
    – BRIAN – thanks for trying–I don’t love the drum on this. But, thanks for playing on “Lord of the Dance”–the drum works well on that one!
  21. Curtain Call Music
    – BRASS/MARGINALIA – could we try a slightly faster tempo?
    – MARGINALIA – thank you for coming forward to bow!
