Many thanks to Jackie for getting all of these notes down from both Saturday and Sunday this weekend.
Nova
Fast “n” sound on all the novas
Cut off at the end of each refrain — inhaling right on the next downbeat
Final cutoff is signaled by Brian on the drum (trill, then hit to cut off)
Noel Nouvelet
Bells, shake on last note
Alle psallite
Beginning bells, look at each other for all three opening chords to get them super together, don’t just glance at each other before the first one. They are all the same notes, D and A, don’t change bells!
No ritard. at the end
Cue for vocal cutoff is bells signal/dampening
Quant je
Sing French verse to each other, English out to the audience
Extend the last note by one bar before cutoff last time
Kyrie
Basses, don’t put a breath between m 26 and 27
Sopranos, Dongmyung is playing Bb, make sure you’re singing B naturals
Basses, m 18, “i” is on beat 3 (not a change, just a reminder)
Basses m 30 be sure to rearticulate the “e” sound at the beginning of the new word
L’homme arme
There’s a pronunciation guide on the production site, use it, and sound more French
Add an extra empty bar after the last note before the repeat
Lift between mm 4 and 5; 26 and 27
Conditor
Lifts in second verse at the commas, build the phrase leading to the “gloria”
Top 2 parts – m 16 make sure there’s a little separation around the 8th note to make it clear
Lean into the downbeat at m. 14 (rather than emphasizing pickup in the previous measure)
The Hunt is Up
Make sure “fox” doesn’t sound like “ox”
The intro. is the same each time, make sure you know whether you’re coming in on a verse or a chorus!!
Boars Head
Cutoff at the end of each refrain should be an inhaling on the next downbeat following the half-note
Sopranos and altos, first two notes of the alternate (last) chorus are straight quarter notes, not dotted like the rest of the choruses
