PART ONE

  • ALL Please make sure you are finding your light throughout!
  • MORGAN When the children finish giving you gifts in “Edi beo thu, hevene quene,” wait until the song ends to stand up and take them downstage
  • MORGAN and JOSH Can you move your first scene together down about a step and a half so you’re standing on the apron.
  • PRESTON After your first entrance as the Green Knight, you can start speaking sooner– you can start the lines as soon as you stop walking
  • PRESTON You sounded great last night! You can start picking up cues and speeding lines up more now. Gather everything together, except Shortest Day, which was great.
  • MORGAN and PRESTON Please make sure you’re both standing in your lights when you are facing off in Act One.
  • JOSH Really enunciate the “N” in “Gawain” when you tell the Green Knight your name.
  • PRESTON Great final moment after your head has been chopped off!
  • ABBIE and MORGAN You can be further SL during Kyrie, we want to see a slight separation between you and the court. You can fill in the hole between the chorus and the band.

PART TWO

  • ABBIE Your line “The seasons turn round Arthur’s Court…” can be less spritely as we get into the darker part of the story here.
  • JOSH After you’ve been armed and given your sword during “L’homme arme”, you can lift your sword up in salute, then wait a little longer before exiting the stage.
  • JOSH You can come out a little sooner before you begin your journey across the stage (following Abbott’s Bromley), and make sure you’re close enough to the steps to hit your light.
  • ABBIE Find your light on “That Christmas Eve, Sir Gawain prayed…”
  • ABBIE During “Sainte Nicholas Godes Druth” (Handbell piece), watch Gawain and then leave– we want to make sure we get you offstage before the doors come on SL.
  • ABBIE Start drifting out on the third verse of “Plus bele que flor / Quant revient / L’autrier joer / Flos Filius”, and try not to get too close to the quartet. Come DS a little so you are separate from the women in the scene.
  • PRESTON We want “The Hunt Is Up (Day One) to start as quickly as possible, get out there as soon as you can.
  • JOSH You can go behind the bed and pull the curtains closed to put your jacket on after your moment with Lady Bercilak on Day Two.
  • PRESTON Step DS more after the boars head passes you so you can be DS of the procession of food
  • JOSH Cry out when you fall following the third blow from the Green Knight.
  • JOSH and PRESTON After Lord Bercilak has been revealed, you can come down and play the scene on the apron line
  • JOSH Let’s take a look at how you wear the sash today.
  • JOSH You can hand the hankie back to the person you got it from so you don’t have to hold on to it for the rest of the scene
  • JOSH Pick up your sword and shield again at the end of your scene with Lord Bercilak.
  • JOSH You can stand on the upper level with the royals for “Gloria ad Modum tubae.”
  • PRESTON When you say “shouted” in The Shortest Day, you can shout the word out a little.
